En kombinert hvalfagst- og fiskebåt leverer fisk til Sverdrup, Reine. Fisken tas inn i bruket, sløyes og legges i kar. En truck tømmer en kar med fisk gjennom en luke hvor fiskene tar hånd om den og sløyer den. Fisken sløyes, lever og rogn legges i egne beholdere. Truck brukes for å flytte på karene med fisk. Mannfolkene sløyer, ungene hjelper til. Ungene trer hau (hodene) som brukes bl.a. til å lage fiskemel. Sløying, hautreing og tungeskjæring. Ungene skjærer tunger og trer hau. En del av fisken går til ferskfisk. Her veies, soreteres, ises og pakkes fisken. Mestparten av fisken henges til tørk på hjellene. (Se siden om tørrfisk).

Activity on the quayside - the winter fishery is in full swing. The boats dock and land their catches. A couple of boats moored at the quayside after landing their catches. The fish is taken indoors, gutted and placed in containers. A forklift empties a container of fish through a hatch. On the inside, the fishermen are waiting to gut the fish. The fish is gutted, liver and roes are placed in separate containers. Forklifts are used to move the containers when they are full. The men gut the fish, and the kids lend a hand. The kids thread the heads that are later used in the production of, amongst other things, fish meal. Gutting, threading heads and cod-tonguing. The kids cut out the cod's tongues - which are a delicacy - and thread the heads. The girls also lend a helping hand. Some of the fish is sold fresh. Here they are weighing, sorting, icing and packing the fish. Most of the catch is hung out to dry on fish racks (see page on Stockfish).
